When you want clarity before you commit

If you are considering solar panels, battery storage, EV charging or a heat pump, most homeowners struggle to find an installer that they trust.

Receiving quotes before your home is properly assessed leaves you guessing, creating unnecessary anxiety about wasting such a large investment.

This survey is designed to give you a clearer view of your options, with advice based on your home and lifestyle, rather than a generic sales process offering just one product.

A measured assessment

Recommendations shaped around you and your home - no assumptions.

Independent guidance

Clear advice you can understand and use.

A more confident next step

Useful now, or in the future.

Area covered – Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Nottinghamshire

Meet the engineer behind the survey

Your survey is carried out by  Dr. John, a Chartered Engineer with over 3 decades of specialist expertise in home energy systems.

He begins by looking carefully at the property itself, how it performs, where energy may be escaping (or being poorly used), what the home is likely to need, and how different technologies will work together in practice.

The result is clear advice based on engineering judgement, decades of practical experience and critical assessment.

This is a professional diagnostic assessment designed to bring clarity to an important decision.

What your £250 engineering survey includes

A proper survey needs a qualified expert to be accurate. Rather than just handing you a quote, an experienced engineer will interpret the data and leave you clear and understandable step-by-step delivery plan of exactly what your home needs.

A proper assessment of your home

We assess how the property performs, so recommendations are based on real conditions rather than assumptions.

This may include thermal checks, measurements, and a review of how the home uses and loses energy.

Sizing shaped around your home and needs

We help you understand what makes sense for the property both now and in the future. Modular designs mean you are not paying for more than you need.

Independent, jargon-free guidance

You receive practical advice in plain English, so your options feel clearer and easier to compare.

A summary you can keep and use

You receive a clear handover summary, whether you continue with Renergy or simply want a well-informed second opinion.

Depending on your requirements, the survey may cover solar, battery storage, heat pump & EV chargers or a combined whole-home approach.

Professional tools. Practical answers.

The survey is supported by specialist calibrated equipment and a structured engineering process, so decisions are based on precisely measured information rather than rough EPC heat loss estimates or satellite roof images, which often result in over-sized heat pumps or wasted roof space.

Thermal checks

Used to understand how the property is performing and where energy may be escaping.

Structural Survey

A structural survey report is provided with every solar survey and design.

Electrical review

Where relevant, electrical systems can be reviewed to assess practical suitability.

Engineer-led interpretation

The real value is knowing the findings are interpreted by an experienced engineer.

Specialist equipment supports the process, but clear judgement is what turns that information into useful advice.

Why many homeowners see this as a sensible first step

The £250 fee reflects the time, expertise and survey work involved in giving you a proper assessment in addition to the bespoke engineerled design output being created.

If you choose Renergy Solutions for the installation, the full £250 is deducted from your final bill.

If you decide to go elsewhere, you still keep the survey summary and recommendations, so you can move forward with more clarity.

Either way, you leave with something useful.

A second opinion can make the next step much clearer

PV and Battery Client Homeowner

"I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all you have done to help me determine the best system for our house, budget and use case. Your detailed knowledge and advice were extremely helpful and I am delighted with the installation."

Independent Survey Client Homeowner

"Unlike a standard sales pitch, John’s approach is rooted in genuine engineering expertise and a deep understanding of the renewable energy sector, aimed solely at providing the best solution. From the outset, he was incredibly thorough, taking the time to explain the technical nuances and design a system bespoke to my home. His attention to detail provided total confidence in the solution."

Solar and Battery Client Homeowner

"John's help and advice was invaluable in guiding our decisions around installing a home PV and battery system. We had several quotes from different companies, but they were all based on remote surveys using Google Earth and none of them considered our individual needs and energy usage patterns. We were confused by the options until we met John."

Home Energy Survey Client Homeowner

"I had more than 10 solutions and quotes spread across 4 companies, and John’s advice and insights were decisive in helping us narrow down the options. As well as tailoring the advice to our needs, he took roof measurements, checked the supply voltage and assessed the property properly during his visit. The result was a cost-effective solution optimised for our home."

Independent Survey Client Solar Design Client

"The best thing for us about the system, which you helped to specify, is that we are now able to fully power our property on the cheaper night-time tariff. Working with you, we were able to confirm that six solar panels would fit on our roof, whereas another installer had said fewer were possible."

Battery Thermal Optimiser Tool

With BS7671 recently becoming law, all solar companies will likely recommend you to install a battery in a place where it will struggle to work properly over winter.

I have created interactive tool that explores how battery temperature and charging conditions affect performance and value achieved using two of the most common tariffs utilised. This tool highlights the importance of good surveying & engineering design for your system.

My engineering survey process is designed to work with you to ensure you get the best returns and do not potentially lose hundreds of pounds a year in value to a poor system design.
